Nomad Brasil specializes in planning and operating private trips, which we call eco-cultural expeditions. More than a simple trip, we create personalized and interactive experiences that go beyond typical travel. We value culture, geography and nature-watching in our trips. Comfort and gastronomy are also a big part of our trips.
We believe that smaller groups have less impact on the environment and also assimilate better with the cultures of the places we visit. We always work with groups of two to six people and with bilingual guides who have ample international experience.

 

Our clients are from all walks of life and all ages, have open hearts and minds, have good senses of humor and look for a wider vision of the world and themselves, as well as leisure, when they travel. They are usually seasoned travelers, who know it's difficult to find the "real thing" and don't accept cheap imitations. They also aren't willing to settle for "typical tourist packages" where large and loud groups follow inflexible and pre-determined itineraries. Our travelers are seeking a personal and intimate experience with nature, without giving up)comfort, culture and fun.

OUR HISTORY
We began working in tourism in 1997 and decided to start a new travel company with unique & eco-tourism trips, with a culture dedicated to travelers, not tourists. So, in search of inspiration, we traveled across North America from Alaska to Mexico by car during 1997. We traveled more than 40,000 km and visited national parks,   archeological sites, wineries, indigenous towns, beaches, mountains and deserts. We added this "on-the-road" experience to our other unique travels in Brazil and 43 other countries on four continents. Armed with our professional experience and inspired by our new trips, we created Nomad Brasil.
 
  We also use an unique car in our expeditions: an old police paddy wagon from the 60s, totally reformed and adapted to our needs, which was transformed into our road cruiser . This car, equipped with a trustworthy 5-speed diesel engine is prepared for any type of road and can travel up to 1,300 km in one trip. It is equipped with a stove, coffeemaker, fridge, water tank, table and chairs, and utensils for exciting open-air meals. On the roof, a convenient platform, affectionately called the "Flying Carpet", provides travelers with a privileged view of the scenery. We like to take our time during our trips, since we think it's more important than to arrive is to leave.
 
A EQUIPE

Luizão (Big Lou)

 Holds a technical degree in
Tourism from the Bradesco Foundation (1982). Big Lou has worked in tourism (air transportion, international operations, travel planning, and corporate travel) since 1977 and is presently a professor in the tour guide program at the ABL & Associados technical school in Sao Paulo. He likes hiking, amateur photography and cooking in his spare time. At Nomad, he is responsible for creating itineraries and is the driver of the Road Cruiser. Nancy

 Nancy brings 14 years of experience as a travel agent to Nomad and has worked for Americam Express, Visual e
Lugano Turismo. Trained as a biologist, she put her academic career at the University of Sao Paulo on hold to pursue a career in tourism. In her spare time, she likes to hike and create art from recycled paper. At Nomad, she is responsible for client services and general administration. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Naná

She is our pet and faithful companion on some trips. She is also reponsible for security at Nomad. She doesn't speak yet, just barks!
